Mark Wahlberg has lost 30kg. Looking completely different.

FROM Matthew McConaughey in Dallas Buyers Club to Tom Hanks in Philadephia and Christian Bale in The Fighter, extreme body transformations tend to be taken seriously by the Academy.
So all eyes are on the project Mark Wahlberg has squeezed in between Transformers: Age of Extinction and Ted 2.
The actor shed almost 30kg to play the title character in Rupert Wyatt’s remake of The Gambler, written by The Departed’s Bill Monahan.
The role of a literary professor whose gambling addiction sees him run afoul of gangsters would seem to be tailor-made for Wahlberg’s second acting Oscar nomination (he also got a producer’s nod on The Fighter).
“I was on a liquid diet for about a month under the watchful eye of doctors,” said the actor while he was in Sydney to promote the fourth film in Michael Bay’s $2.6 billion action franchise.
“I continued to lose weight during the shoot but I was relieved when it was over and I could start eating again
